Sundance Institute

Since 2005, the Sundance Institute and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation have partnered to support the presentation and celebration of films with science or technology-based themes through the Science-in-Film Initiative. The Sloan Commissioning Grant and Sloan Fellowship provide filmmakers with financial and creative support to foster the development of their science-themed projects, and the Sloan Prize is awarded at the Sundance Film Festival to a writer and director for their feature film. The partnership encourages emerging filmmakers to create and present films that heighten public awareness of science in our culture.
